Ashley Greene: Cover Girl

Ashley Green (Alice) graces the cover of the October 2009 issue of Saturday Night Magazine.

"Could you tell us about the new Twilight movie, New Moon?
It was fun for me because it was a little more in-depth for Alice’s character. It’s more about the angst part of it than the love story as far as Edward and Bella. Edward leaves Bella, so she kind of falls into a depression and gets close to Jacob, and discovers a couple more crazy things about the town. We had a blast filming. We got to go to Italy, which was amazing. It was a couple of us who got to go to Italy, and I was included. It was coming back to the people we got really close to in the movie before so it was like a little reunion. And Chris Weitz directed it, and he was incredible. I feel like the set was so chill and really comfortable, and it seemed like it was all very planned out and very put together so we weren’t going crazy and stressing out. I’m excited to see it all put together. I’m really confident that it will be good."

Taylor Lautner (Jacob) Interview

BoxOffice talks to Taylor in their new article/interview "Competing For Bella."

"If the last two books in the series hadn't already been written, what do you think Jacob should do to win over Bella?

I don't think he would have changed anything, and I don't think he should change anything. Jacob and Edward are extremely different guys and it's just whether you want one guy or another. Jacob is himself, and he has a relationship with Bella that Edward doesn't. And Edward has a relationship with Bella that Jacob doesn't. So I wouldn't change a thing.

As an actor, how do you make the audience root for Jacob and get invested in his feelings when the outcome of the love triangle is already known?

Well, you try and take things one step at a time. When I'm filming New Moon, I'm not thinking about Eclipse. When I'm filming Eclipse, I'm not thinking about Breaking Dawn. We just have to focus on the movie that we're doing . . .

Everybody has been talking about the muscle that you've put on. The furor around actors and their weight changes is something you usually see happen with older actors who are more established. You're 17—what is that like to have people paying so much attention to your biceps?

It's different. It was all for the job, and that's all. I knew that Jacob was going to transform not only mentally, but physically as well, from Twilight to New Moon, and I wanted to be able to portray him correctly for all the fans. That was my motivation. It was a lot of hard work, though. . .

What do you like about playing Jacob?

I love Jacob and Bella's relationship. It's very different from Edward and Bella's. Jacob and Bella start off as really good friends. They become best friends—they can tell each other anything, they do whatever together, ride motorcycles. I love that. And then their relationship starts growing into more and more, and you wonder if they're going to go past friends. I love being able to do that. And work with an amazing actress, Kristen Stewart, and all of the help around us, our director Chris Weitz, the whole crew. It's a lot of fun.

What will draw guys your age to New Moon?

There's a lot more action than Twilight. It's more exciting—it has werewolves and vampires, which creates fights because they don't get along. Not only does the action step up, but the whole story line does as well. Now there's a third person involved. . .

Are you parents doing anything to try to keep your life in check? 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's millions of girls screaming, but you're still a normal kid?'

Absolutely. I'm hoping it doesn't take too much work. I feel the exact same—I'm the same person as before. It's just a completely different world. I have my world, and then I have Twilight world."

Screen Shots from New Moon

"Forbidden to remember, terrified to forget; it was a hard line to walk."
-Bella, New Moon

"You should probably know that I’m breaking the rules right now. Well, not technically, since he said I was never to walk through his door again, and I came in the window… But, still, the intent was clear."
-Edward, New Moon

"You’re not asleep, and you’re not dead. I’m here, and I love you. I have always loved you, and I will always love you. I was thinking of you, seeing your face in my mind, every second that I was away. When I told you that I didn’t want you, it was the very blackest kind of blasphemy."
-Edward, New Moon

"He thought time and patience would change me, and, though I knew he was dead wrong, I also knew that I would let him try. . . He was my best friend. I would always love him, and it would never, ever be enough."
-Bella, New Moon

"Bella, honey, we only protect people from one thing—our one enemy. It’s the reason we exist—because they do."
-Jacob, New Moon

"The only thing that Jacob would want from Edward would be his absence."
-Bella, New Moon

new New Moon trailer @ the VMAs

pictures, and trailers, and interviews... oh my!

I've been away for awhile... so here's a few treats for you to catch you up on the latest Twilight happenings!

First and most importantly, the NEW leaked New Moon trailer (or you can catch it tomorrow on the 2009 VMA's on MTV):

Next, some interviews. . .

MTV talks to Peter:

". . .MTV: So, Peter, as we get closer to the "New Moon" release, are you excited to see the final product?

Peter Facinelli: Yeah, I dig the clips that I've seen. I'm excited to see what Chris Weitz has put together. I'm looking forward — as a fan of the books and a fan of the movies — to seeing it myself.

MTV: When it comes to the "Twilight" films, there are two types of scenes: Those in Stephenie's books, and the new ones Melissa Rosenberg added. Do you feel an extra level of excitement shooting those, because they're so new?

Facinelli: I do. A lot of people keep asking "Hey, what happens in 'New Moon'?" And you say, "Well, if you've read the book, you know what happens." But I like the scenes that aren't necessarily in the book, that get to tell a little bit of the backstory. It adds another element to the moviemaking, and it's a little surprise for the fans.

MTV: We've been asking your co-stars to give us their favorite "New Moon" line in character. Can you do yours?

Facinelli: Oh, wow. Now I have to reach back a whole year and try to remember my lines from a year ago, when I can barely remember my lines the day of. ... OK, here we go: "Like everything else in life, I just had to decide what to do with what I was given." That's a line that Carlisle says. . ."

E! Online talks to Kellan:

"Don't expect a threesome with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Kellan Lutz—or even just a lunch date—to happen anytime soon.

They don't hang.

"They're just so complex, and I like to laugh and smile," Twilight's Emmett Cullen told E! News. . .

As for everyone's favorite couple…

Yeah, Kellan's not sure either.

"I don't know what's going on. I have no idea," he claims. "I don't hang out with Rob or Kristen."

. . .Kellan plays board games like Risk and Clue with Ashley Greene and friends while Pattz and that girl whose name he hardly mentioned do whatever "complex" people do."

Finally, some new promotional pics [thanks to Lion&LambLove]. . .

what's your Eclipse IQ?

ReelzChannel.com has an Eclipse quiz:

how much do you know? Find out HERE

Robsten is SO on!

E! Online's The Awful Truth [ted casablanca] has the latest news/gossip on Rob and Kristen:

"You may be seeing less and less Robsten lately, but those behind the Twilight scenes sure aren't. One of our very in-the-know sources dished to us that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are hardly being nonchalant about their feelings with each other.

"Everyone who wasn't directly involved in the whole situation obviously speculated about what was going on between them, but lately it's become clear to anyone who works with them—Rob and Kristen are very much together."

. .Oh, and as of now, Rob, Kristen and Taylor Lautner will be at the VMAs in person to present a new clip for New Moon—one with much more Rob in it, we're assured. Happy now, folks?"

Team Jasper: ready to see more of him?

MTV.com has a new interview with Jackson Rathbone [Jasper Hale] where he reveals that we'll be seeing him use his powers in New Moon and that we'll be getting his backstory in Eclipse. . .

"We don't need to have our emotions influenced to know that Jasper Hale Whitlock is one of Stephenie Meyer's greatest creations. A 166-year-old Civil War veteran whose transformation and redemption is a key theme in the later "Twilight" novels, the character has long been a fan favorite. . .

What follows are some major plot revelations from the next two films — including his fight scene with Kellan Lutz, exposing Jasper's powers earlier than you might think and how to kill one of David Slade's newborn vampires. . .

MTV: So we're going to get to Jasper's Civil War backstory?

Rathbone: Yes, I get to shoot some Civil War stuff, and I'm also going to shoot a lot of fighting scenes. Which is great, because I just came off [M. Night Shyamalan's] "The Last Airbender," and I've been doing fighting for the last six months. So I'm ready to keep it on. . .

MTV: What kind of moves will you be pulling off? . . . [and] Why is that?

Rathbone: Well, we're talking about newborn vampires that can't control their urges — they can't really think very quickly. So if you just let them go to their instincts and evade and attack them from side to side, you could get them; but if you try and go after them through force, they're going to win every time. So it's all about evasion. . .

MTV
: Are there training scenes in "Eclipse" along these lines?

Rathbone: It's interesting; there's a lot of cool scenes where Jasper trains the Cullen family on how to fight the newborns. He gets to train Emmett — and Emmett is a born fighter — so he's telling Emmett all these techniques, and Emmett thinks he could just best Jasper [during their sparring]. Jasper ends up getting the best of him, because it's a war mentality, not just a street brawl. It's about thinking ahead; it's a chess game. . .

MTV: Cool. Will we see the scene where Jasper gets bitten?

Rathbone: Oh yeah, we have to see that. It's going to be great. I've been studying up a lot on the Civil War and that era. It really was a crazy time. It was all-out war on our own turf and between countrymen. That's terrible. It's an interesting time to see when Jasper was actually human and what his human form was and, when he gets turned, how intense and how dark he is. Then [we'll see] his realization of what he's become, him finding Alice and being redeemed by love. . .

MTV: And is that the first time we'll see your powers?

Rathbone: Actually, in "New Moon," we get a little glimpse. Inside the school. . .

MTV: How was it to film scenes where you were influencing the emotions of those around you?

Rathbone: It was fun. I just played it very naturally. . .it's a natural thing, like the human ability to smell or to hear is a natural ability. To affect the mental state of anyone around you [I depicted Jasper as] keeping it all right in the eyes. Just thinking it and transferring it through the eyes, which are the windows to the soul — even to the soulless. . .

MTV: And will it be clear to the audience that this emotion-manipulation is going on?

Rathbone: In "New Moon," when we see it? It's pretty obvious. . ."
