Last November, the franchise’s first feature TWILIGHT opened to theaters full of screaming girls. On November 20, similar sounds will be heard as the sequel, NEW MOON, bares its teeth—and claws—at 12:01 a.m. via Summit Entertainment.
“There’s something for everyone this time around,” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (DEXTER) says during a break from yet another long day in the TV series’ writers’ room. “NEW MOON, as directed by Chris Weitz, looks amazing. There’s definitely more conflict going on.”
In the center of that conflict is high-school heroine Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). On her 18th birthday, her vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family throw her a party—but when an unexpected paper cut causes Jasper Cullen (Jackson Rathbone) to attack Bella, Edward’s attitude begins to change. Knowing the danger that his family poses to Bella, he makes the painful decision to leave their home town of Forks, WA, telling her before he goes, “This is the last time you’ll ever see me.” With her one true love gone, Bella falls into a deep depression, but soon finds comfort in her best friend, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who is protecting a secret of his own. . ."
